Fire departments, DNR, respond to rural Grantsburg home fire

RURAL GRANTSBURG – Five fire departments and a DNR fire crew responded to a home fire in rural Grantsburg on Friday morning, April 13. According to a deputy’s report, a pellet stove was being used to heat the house and it caused a dog kennel to melt and catch on fire.  The member of the family who was at home at the time got out and called 911.

Fire departments from Grantsburg, Siren, Cushing, Pine City, Minn. and Frederic were called to the scene on Fish Lake Road as well as a DNR fire unit from Grantsburg. Firefighters arrived at the scene between 9 and 9:30 a.m. Also at the scene was the Burnett County Sheriff’s Department and North Memorial ambulance service.
