Barron Co Sheriff highlights domestic violence after recent arrest

Jason Rush - from Barron County Sheriff's Department

BARRON COUNTY- Chris Fitzgerald, Barron County Sheriff, highlights domestic violence issues in local communities after a 34-year-old Haugen man was arrested on numerous charges related to a domestic abuse incident that occurred on Saturday, March 10.

According to the news release, Jason Rush, 34 of Haugen, was taken into custody on charges of aggravated battery, false imprisonment, recklessly endangering the safety, criminal damage to property and bail jumping from a domestic abuse incident that took place in the Village of Haugen earlier that night.
The victim was transported to another hospital where they remain with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Fitzgerald points out that domestic violence and abuse can happen to anyone, yet the problem is often overlooked, excused, or denied. This is especially true when the abuse is psychological, rather than physical. Noticing and acknowledging the signs of an abusive relationship is the first step to ending it.
