WEBSTER – The Webster Tigers, Unity and Grantsburg all posted conference victories on Tuesday, Feb. 6, on a busy night for basketball in the Leader Land area.

Webster was able to get through the Saints for their fourth straight win and Grantsburg played a solid second half to get through the Siren Dragons, who trailed 29-23 at halftime.

“We expect to get everybody’s best game,” said Grantsburg coach Nick Hallberg. The Pirates currently lead the West Lakeland with a 9-1 record.

“Tonight Siren did a nice job of throwing a few things at us and I thought our guys really handled it well. We missed some opportunities a the rim to start and just didn’t shoot well in the first half.”

John Chenal finished with 28 points for the Pirates and Leo Chenal had 23.

“It was nice to see us play well in the second half and make a big run there. The intensity on the defensive end was key,” Hallberg said.
