BALSAM LAKE – Reports of suspicious activity on Little Butternut Lake, near Luck, on the evening of Thursday, Jan. 25, led to a multiple-agency effort to track down the people behind the activity.

Six males were questioned and two were believed to be involved in the break-in of several ice shacks, some of which showed evidence of a break-in with tracks and a broken window.

One of the men questioned, Brandonn Chapman, admitted to being “curious” about the fish houses and admitted to entering at least three of the fish houses. Another juvenile male, 15 years-old, was also tied to the break-ins.

Chapman, 20, admitted to the break-ins and was also arrested for marijuana possession.

The juvenile male was referred to juvenile authorities for burglary, criminal damage and theft charges.
