ALTOONA – A pair of goals from Blizzard junior forward Jared Lee made for a promising start to the Blizzard hockey team’s game against Regis/Altoona/McDonell on Friday, Jan. 5, but it wasn’t enough to secure what could have been their first win of the season.

Lee scored the two goals in the first period but RAM bounced back to score six unanswered goals to eventually take the win. Lee would earn a hat trick with a goal in the second period and David Doty also scored a goal in the second period on assist from Lee.

The final two goals of the game were scored by Doty on assist from Lee, and Dawson Van Meter on assist from Tanner Van Meter and Lee, who finished with six points.

Thorne Carter played just over six minutes in the net with five shots on goal and Caleb Johnson also saw time in the net with eight saves and was peppered by 12 shots on goal.

The Blizzard have some upcoming home games scheduled including a Thursday, Jan. 11, game against Baldwin-Woodville at Siren, starting at 7 p.m. They host Chequamegon/Phillips Saturday, Jan. 13, at Siren, starting at 3 p.m., and host Amery on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Siren, starting at 7 p.m.
