SPOONER – Spooner Area Community Education has once again set up an experience of a lifetime by offering a trip to Minneapolis to the Orpheum Theatre to see the Broadway musical “Aladdin” on Saturday, Oct. 7, at a 2 p.m. matinee. The musical is presented in two acts, with music by the renowned Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice.
The stage production holds minor similarities to the 1992 animated version of “Aladdin” but mostly new ideas that were cut from the film and added to the stage version to create an epic story. The scenery, costumes, lighting, dancing and music will provide a colorful and exciting show provided by Tony Award-winning creative team members with years of accolades in the stage production venue.
For those who remember watching, and rewatching, the animated version in the early ’90s, an opportunity to see a professional stage performance of the poor boy trying to make it in the world will surely inspire.
…“A timeless story of Aladdin, a thrilling new production filled with unforgettable beauty, magic, comedy and breathtaking spectacle. It’s an extraordinary theatrical event where one lamp and three wishes make the possibilities infinite.”
